Egg whites have many good health benefits. I started to look into the benefits after my partner started asking to have just egg whites for breakfast. Now I understand the common reason why people eat egg whites is because they are lower in calories compared to having the whole egg. A difference of approx 55 calories to be exact. They also contain vitamins magnesium and sodium. Egg whites contain no cholesterol so by removing the yolk you are removing 213mg of the eggs cholesterol.If your that concerned about your calorie intake, try mixing two egg whites to one yolk in your cooking.
The obvious reason why we choose to eat only the egg white is the fact that it contains a high amount of protein, 4g per egg white. We all now protein helps with muscle synthesis, the whole egg contains vitamin b12 which is necessary to assist with the breakdown of fat. Therefore we are compromising necessary vitamins for lower calories and cholesterol.
One finding I must try is the egg white face mask. Apparently the egg white works to tighten the skin and reduce the signs of pores. Side effects, I will need to look into this a little more before I try.
Even though there are many health benefits of eating egg whites compared to the whole egg, I would still personally choose to eat the whole thing. Our body needs a vast amount of vitamins and minerals to be able to function properly including cholesterol. Eggs are also a good source of omega 3, vitamin A, D, E and K. I think I will stick to the moto “everything in moderation” and keep enjoying my eggs as they are!
